What is a contestable customer?

A contestable customer is a business or entity that meets the minimum consumption threshold set by the government (currently at least 500 kWh per month) and can therefore choose its electricity supplier. You're no longer a captive customer.

Will my power supply be interrupted when I switch to COREnergy?

No. Your power supply will not be affected. The local Distribution Utility (DU) is still responsible for the delivery of electricity to your business. They manage the wires and infrastructure, ensuring your power remains reliable.

What is the actual process of switching and what are the documentary requirements?

We make it as simple as possible, and handle most of it for you. We'll assist with a few standard documents—such as your Letter of Intent to Switch, company registration, and recent bills—and guide you every step of the way. We take care of the coordination with your current utility, ensuring a seamless transition that allows you to remain focused on your business.

How is billing handled when I switch to COREnergy?

Upon switching to COREnergy, you'll receive a single, itemized bill directly from us. This bill consolidates all charges, including the generation cost from COREnergy and the pass-through charges for distribution and transmission from your local utility. This provides you with a clear breakdown of your energy costs. For deeper insights and historical data, you can access your billing and consumption information at any time through our MyPower Platform.

How will I access my billing as an existing customer?

You will receive your monthly bill conveniently delivered via email. In addition, you will also gain access to our easy-to-use, customer portal. It's a single dashboard where you can view your bills, track your consumption, and manage your account anytime, anywhere.

You can verify the legitimacy of any Retail Electricity Supplier by checking the official list of licensed RESs on the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) website.

How is my consumption measured and can I get access to that data?

Your consumption is accurately measured by the meter provided by the Distribution Utility. As a COREnergy client, you get access to this data through our MyPower Platform, allowing you to monitor and manage your usage.

Does COREnergy offer any value-added services beyond just supplying power?

Yes. Beyond our competitive energy plans, we offer energy services like Power Quality Measurements, Thermal Scan Test and different tiers of Energy Audits to help optimize your business's energy consumption and improve overall efficiency.

What areas do you serve?

COREnergy is a licensed Retail Electricity Supplier that can serve eligible businesses across the Philippines. Since the Distribution Utility (DU) is still responsible for the delivery infrastructure, our services are available in any area where there's an existing DU.

Does COREnergy only serve large enterprises?

No. We serve businesses of all sizes, from growing medium-sized enterprises to large corporations, as long as they qualify as a contestable customer. This means your business can choose its power supplier, regardless of its size, as long as it meets the monthly consumption threshold set by the government. Smaller businesses can also gain the Power of Choice by joining our Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) to qualify. We specialize in providing the same high level of care and personalized service to all our clients.

What is RAP (Retail Aggregation Program) and how to apply?

The Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) is a mechanism that allows smaller businesses to group their electricity consumption to meet the required threshold for the contestable market. This program is designed for customers whose individual consumption is below the 500 kWh threshold, but whose combined consumption with other businesses is enough to qualify them to switch to a Retail Electricity Supplier (RES) like COREnergy. It's a way to give smaller businesses the same "Power of Choice" and access to better pricing and service that large enterprises enjoy.
To apply for the program, simply reach out to us at COREnergy. Our team will help you determine your eligibility and guide you through the process of finding other businesses to form an aggregation. We handle all the necessary coordination with your local Distribution Utility and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to make the transition as smooth as possible.

What is the average rate for your Fixed Rate product?

Our Fixed Rate product offers price stability and protection from market fluctuations, perfect for businesses that value predictable energy costs. On average, rates range from ₱5.00 to ₱5.80 per kWh, Line Rental Inclusive (LRI).

Your final rate will depend on a few key factors:
Contract Term: The total length of your supply agreement
Location: The Distribution Utility (DU) and the region where your facility operates
Load Factor: How efficiently your facility uses electricity (see the next FAQ for details)

What is Load Factor, and why is it important for my pricing?

Load Factor measures how efficiently your facility uses electricity. It’s the ratio of your average energy consumption to your maximum possible consumption over a given period.

In simpler terms:
High Load Factor (closer to 100%) – Your facility operates steadily and efficiently, like a 24/7 manufacturing plant. This consistency makes your energy use more predictable — often resulting in better rates per kWh.
Low Load Factor – Your facility uses energy in short bursts or has large fluctuations in demand. This irregular pattern is less efficient for the grid and can lead to higher rates per kWh.

Understanding your load factor helps you improve energy efficiency and allows COREnergy to offer a more competitive, tailored rate for your business.

How is the rate determined for your WESM-based contracts?

Our WESM-based (Wholesale Electricity Spot Market) pricing gives you flexibility to take advantage of real-time market prices. Your rate changes based on hourly prices set by the national energy market, which means you can enjoy lower costs when market prices drop, but there’s also more risk when prices go up.

Your total rate includes three main components:
WESM Price: The current hourly market price for electricity.
Service Fees: COREnergy’s fixed charge for managing your supply and market participation.
Regulated Charges: Standard fees set by the ERC and the Transmission Utility.

We keep everything transparent and traceable.
